What we wore Wednesday!

Lately I feel as if I don’t like any clothes being sold in the stores! boo. But that just means I need to get creative. Shop my closet, put things together I normally wouldn’t, and make some new thing myself. Although I would love to be able to knit light weight cardigans, but I just don’t have the time. ;) So in one of those annoyed moments I sat down and finally drafted out a pattern for one of my favorite tops I have had for years from the gap.  I got the muslin right and then started right in on this lovely Anna Marie Horner Field Study fabric that I has been sitting waiting for me for a bit. It’s almost perfect. I think it’s a little blousier than planned, but it still works fine, or I can take it in a bit if it really annoys me after a couple wears.  It has a simple pleated neckline, and small capped sleeves that are part of the main body. I bias trimmed all the edges with matching fabric. I think it would be cute lined with no bias trim, and also with a contrast binding. :)   I am seriously in LOVE with this fabric print, and have been seeing peeks of the same fabric coming out in Voile on Instagram. Can’t wait. :) Shirt: Made by Me – Field Study Anna Marie Horner Cardigan: Target – added the doilies Jeans: Gap Shoes: Blowfish @DSW Necklace: Target   I also thought I would share my cutie! I have so much fun dressing him. Shirt: Target Cardigan: H&M Jeans: GapKids (borrowed from a friend – luke is right between her boys) – love the look of the cuff, but it’s also so practical when pants are too long. :) Shoes: Converse

Lastly, since it’s Halloween, I thought I would share Luke’s Halloween costume. :) He was less than thrilled this time around with it as it seemed to rub his chin. But we where able to keep him in it to go see Grandma. ;) No Trick or Treating though since he has a little cold.

From a couple months ago(waiting for full shot pics from today but daddy is flying) / today with daddy – doesn’t he look thrilled?

WIWW – It’s starting to feel like fall

The weather is feeling so nice here, still a bit warm here and there. But the fall breeze, the cool nights, they are just lovely.

I actually have more than one outfit to share this week. Yay!

I am linking up with Lindsey from The Pleated Poppy Today. Check out her awesome style and all the other ladies that link up.

To a playdate, where I did a kid craft. :) It was fun, but hard with 10 children say 4 and under!

Black Top: Gap – several years ago, and one of my favorites! I think it’s going to be done soon, and then I will turn into a pattern to make some.

Cardigan: Target – last week

Boyfriend cropped jeans: Target

Sandals : Target clearance a week or two ago

Top: Gap – sale last spring

Cardigan: Target – two? years ago

Cropped jeans: Kohls – Jennifer Lopez

Sandals: Target

I got my hair done! :) So happy about that, it was getting shaggy. Basically the same style just trimmed and shaped with some major bang snippage.

Top: The Loft – Bought over the weekend, it is super comfy

Tank: Target

Cropped Jeans: Target

Sandals: Target

Necklace: Allora Handmade, from several years ago.

Yep well, that’s it. It hit 91 degrees today but I hear the weekend is supposed to be in the 70’s which I am seriously praying for since I will be outside at a flea market all weekend. I do NOT do heat. ;)

Do you link up with Lindsey? I would love to check out your outfit posts, so leave me a link. Because as much as I would like to I just don’t have the time to check out every single outfit link on The Pleated Poppy! :)

What I Wore – to the Park

This morning Luke and I just lazed about for a little bit. I let him watch a few shows in my bed, and I relaxed and enjoyed the fact that he didn’t wake up early crying from teething pain as he has several days this past week.

Then we got ready and headed out to the park, well two parks. We where trying to find a place to take a picture of my quilt I finished yesterday. Check back tomorrow for Quilt details.

We found one.

Then we played and watched trains for a bit. I think he may have had fun.

I was thinking I would take pictures out at the park, but realized I can’t take them myself and don’t have a tripod. So I snapped a couple of pictures of my outfit when we got home.

My outfit was inspired by Oh Sweet Joy! She has such cute style, she works for Anthropologie after all! :)

Outfit Details:

Shirt: The Loft

Tank: Target

Shorts: Kohls

Necklace: Groopdealz (check ebay though)

Sandals: Steve Madden

Linking up with The Pleated Poppy today for What I Wore Wednesday. Check it out if you haven’t she has great style too and there are so many fun ladies that link up super cute outfits.

What I Wore – made for me

I thought I would hop back on the What I Wore Wednesday train since I was totally liking my outfit this evening. I am linking up with Lindsay at The Pleated Poppy again.

I just got these pants last week and love them! I wasn’t sure I could pull off the colored pants trend, especially this light. But I found these at a fantastic price and they fit great, so I went for it. These pants have been dubbed the sans Luke pants as I am too scared to wear them around Luke. So like tonight I wore them to Bible Study sans Luke. :)

You may recognize the fabric as the same as the back of Luke’s quilt. lol! I realized it when I was writing that post. It’s a thrifted sheet I found a while ago and I used it to make this shirt thinking that if it didn’t turn out it cost me $2. But I actually ended up liking the shirt a lot, and I wear it at least once a week.  I drafted the pattern myself from a similar shirt that I already owned.

I thought I would give an ode to my lovely sandals, that broke shortly after this picture. Ugh! I will be getting them fixed as they are some of my favorites. I wear them sooo much! I kinda like this color combo, you know with a pop or coral or lemon yellow thrown in. ;)

Outfit Details:

Shirt: Made by me

Pants: Loft

Shoes: Steve Madden ( I know they broke, but I have had them awhile and wear them at least 6x a week, and have them in another color. so I would recommend them)

This outfit post is proving to me that I need to step out of my comfort zone more often as both the pants and shirt where just that, and I love them. Have you stepped out of your comfort zone in fashion lately? You should!

Lovely Weather

On Sunday the weather took a drastic turn for the better. Saturday it was in the 90’s, Sunday in the 60’s. Wow, but awesome. I love this weather so much.

So the past couple days it has been fun to get dressed and find that nice balance of cozier clothing, while still keeping a  breezy look, since I am not quite ready for dark colors, boots, and scarfs here.

Today is the only day I took a picture. Oh well! Linking up to Lindsay at the Pleated Poppy today! I love her WIWW linky parties.

Wednesday: Weight Watchers Meeting, errands, and lunch at a friends

I LOVE wearing sandals with jeans. I love wearing sandals period. There’s just something about having your toes free and still be warm. But, I am always warm. :)

Top: Old Navy (just bought on clearance)

Cardigan: Target

Jeans: Old Navy ( Next Size down, YAY!)

Sandals: Steve Madden

Bracelet: Target

And at one point today I was wearing a super cute Robot necklace. I think I may have left it at my friends?

Weight Watchers: I am in a rut, a plateau. I gain a little, lose a little. It sucks. But our meeting today was about new beginnings. So I am jumping in full force and maybe I will have some significant loss to report the next couple weeks. :)

It was a mustard kind of week

I realized through this I don’t have a lot of thrifted clothing anymore. From this discovery I am thinking about limiting myself to only shopping the thrift stores for a couple months. This will be a fun adventure for me along with saving some dough while I am going down sizes (slowly but surely) due to some weight loss.

Sunday: Church, and spending time with friends.

I guess this skirt could be considered a bargain since it was free. :) It was a wonderful gift from my fabulous group of Bible Study ladies for my birthday. They know me so well.

Shirt: Target

Skirt: Anthropologie (gifted)

Shoes: Steve Madden

Necklace: Forever 21

Monday: We didn’t leave the house this day. But I wanted to get dressed and look cute. So…

You can see my nice tan…ur sunburn neckline from Sunday, and trust me if my sleeves weren’t that long you would see a lovely farmers tan arms also.  This Yellow tunic is relatively new, but I just altered it to be a little more fitted since you could seriously have fit two of me in it.

Shirt/Tunic: Forever 21 ( I think it came with a belt of the same fabric which I need to find)

Cardigan: Thrifted (A.N.A brand from Jcpenny)

Capris: Banana Republic Outlet

Belt: Target

Flops: Old Navy

Last week I didn’t make it to my Weight Watchers meeting because Luke didn’t sleep much that night so we were both exhausted and cranky. :(

Thanks for stopping by!

just another day

Do you ever have one of those days where everything you do or say could be made into a witty tagline, facebook status, twitter update? Yesterday was that kind of a day for me.  Today not so much! It’s been a long one all ready, but it’s just another day I guess.

It’s hot today. I am thus sharing  just one outfit from Monday? I think.

Monday:  Running Errands

Linking up to the Pleated Poppy today. Lindsay challanged us last week to pull something out of our closet that we haven’t worn in awhile and wear it a different way. While I did wear  dress I haven’t worn in a good two years this past week I forgot to take a picture before I was spit up all over. ;)  The problem is, I don’t have very many clothes that I haven’t worn in a while since I have been losing weight I am getting rid of all the to big clothes to help me stick to it and keep the weight off.   So… I pulled out this top, I wore it a lot when I was pregnant but not since then. I added a belt this time though.

Top: TjMaxx – can’t remember the brand-

Cardigan: Target

Capri’s: Target

Flipflops: Old Navy – these are my house sandals, I never wear them out.

Belt: Thrifted

Weight Watchers: I lost .8lbs last week Yay! This week I didn’t go due to a middle of the night long awakening by someone in the house.

Thanks for stopping by!

It’s Wednesday again!

Wow is August flying by for everyone? or is it just me?  I feel like I blinked and August is more than half over.  Apparently life just keeps moving faster and faster.  Well, in light of Life passing by too quickly this week I have only one outfit to share. Linking up to Lindsay at the Pleated Poppy for her What I Wore Wednesday Posts.

Tuesday (that’s right yesterday;): Running Errands and Bible Study with my ladies!

So, how is it that I always, I mean always, end up wearing a dress on the day I go to Home Depot. EVERY time! :) It’s okay! I think it’s rather fun to be running around Home Depot in a dress with the men there realizing, yeah, I know what I’m doing/talking about thank you very much!  I actually had a guy once tell me I was his kind of girl because I was checking to make sure the boards where straight. That’s what you get when you dad worked construction on the side growing up my good man!

So I tried to dress out of my comfort zone with some fashion trends?!?. Wearing a T-shirt under a spaghetti strap dress, and wearing patterns together. I have always liked the look of the shirt with a strappy dress or tank over but never could find the right combo until I decided stripes underneath could look cute? right? Then I grab this belt I whipped up the other night planning to wear it with a different shirt, but didn’t, and thought what the heck. So there you have it. I felt cute yet slightly uncomfortable.

Shirt: Target

Dress: Target

Sandals: Steve Madden via Von Maur ;)

Necklaces: Forever 21

Belt: Made by me to go with another shirt

Welp that’s my outfit this week!

Weight Watchers Update: Last week I lost .2lbs. I was disappointed since I was hoping to loose the gain of the previous week but that’s what you get when all you want to do is lay around and eat Chocolate Chip cookies. ;) So here’s to a better meeting this morning.

WIWW family addition!

This was a fun week for me clotheswise, for a couple reasons. I realized that I don’t have to nurse Luke out of the house to much anymore since he is eating 3 solid meals a day and mainly nurses for naps and bedtime.  Which opens up more possibilities in the way of clothing. i.e. dresses that don’t have a button top, long tunics with belts, real bras! ;) Yeah, that’s right.  This also makes me change clothes more than once a day if I am going out, say for dinner with the family, or with the ladies to a movie (after Luke’s in bed).

Outfit 1: Wednesday Night dinner out with my boys

This was  a prime example of changing before going out. My husband dresses up for work and so I like to wear a little bit nicer clothes if we go out f at night even if it’s just to Chipotle (Yum)! You know, jeans and a shirt(even a cute shirt) don’t really compliment men’s dress attire that well.

Dress: Ann Taylor Loft

Cardigan: Francesa’s

Sandals: Target

Necklace: Target ( and Yes Luke puts any necklace I wear right in his mouth, but I refuse to give them up)

My dates for the above outfit.

Luke: Outfit is Amy Coe for Babies’r’us David: I think everything is from Kohl’s except his 5th and Lamar slim fit shirt.

Outfit #2: Saturday night Harry Potter date with 4 lovely ladies

It’s been a bit cooler in the evenings, and it’s always slightly chilly in a movie theater. Which lead me to put on jeans for the first time in months and grab a cardigan. Oh and yes, it took us awhile to all find a date to go see Harry Potter, and yes we did see it in 3d (awesome), and yes I LOVED it. ;)

Shirt: Linen Tank for Gap Outlet

Caridigan: Anthropologie

Jeans: Old Navy

Flats: Salvation Army (Brand new from Target)

Necklace: Kohl’s

Here’s a close up of my cardigan addition.  I bought this cardigan for around %60 off at Anthropolgie in their sale department and with my birthday %15 off coupon. I love it, and had been looking for a mustard cardigan for 2 years. Yes, two years. So I was sad to discover a tiny hole on the shoulder the first time I wore it. I thought about returning it, but it was the only one they had, and the two year search was in the back of my mind. So I grabbed a couple cute neutral fabrics from my stash and cut out a bunch of circles. I backed them with the best heat and bond stuff I have ever used and ironed them on. I like it, and feel it adds a fun little extra touch.

Outfit #3: Fabric shopping and ladies bible study

I bought this tunic on Monday and LOVE it. Its comfy, cute, and was less than $20.

Tunic: Forever 21 (it’s probably a dress, but I can’t do that short ;)

Cardigan: Target

Belt: Borrowed from another Forever 21 Dress

Capris: Banana Republic Outlet

Sandals: Target

Shell Cuff: Gift from Brother and Sister-In-Law from I think Jamacia? or some other exotic local.

Weight Watchers: I gained 2.4 lbs last week. Boooooooo! ;) Oh well. I know why, I wasn’t following the plan well at all, and I seem to have a weakness for Chocolate Chip Cookies lately. I am hoping I did better this week.

Thanks for stopping by!

Blue Wednesday

I have decided two things from writing this post.

1. I wear a lot of blue. Even though I only am sharing two outfits this week, thinking back, I am not sure I went a day without wearing blue.  Hmm… I may need to think about other colors to enhance my wardrobe.

2. This photo angle gives me a double chin. In almost every picture. Oh well! I’m okay with it, obviously, since I’m sharing pictures of myself on the internet!

On to the Outfits!

Sunday: To church we did go

I belted my Sunday outfit again. Still not sure about the whole belt not in belt loops thing. But it worked since I had a button up top to nurse in, and I feel like I need to do more fitted on top when I wear a flowy skirt.

Top: J. Crew Outlet

Tank: Nursing tank from Target

Skirt: Banana Republic Outlet

Belt: Thrifted

Sandals: Target

Necklace: Lia Sophia

Tuesday: Ladies Bible Study

I have been looking for cute short sleeve cardigans and just found this one at Target this afternoon.  Does anybody else want to wear new clothes the same day they buy them. I always do if I am going out later. ;)

Cardigan: Target

Top: Francesca’s

Capris: Target

Sandals: Steve Madden (gift from my Bible study ladies several years ago)

Oh and I did put a necklace on when I left the house. But it’s not in the picture since Luke goes straight for them.

Yep, that’s about it! Since I am writing this on Tuesday night and Scheduling it for Wednesday I will have to update my Weight Watchers Stats  later today. I am not looking forward to weigh in as I had a rough food week.

Thanks for stopping by!
