Doll Ladies

· by Kristin

I have wanted to make dolls of my own design for awhile now. I have made some great dolls from others patterns and they are so fun to create, but I always wanted to add my own personality and touch to them beyond picking out fabrics. So I started drafting a pattern, and then set it aside for a long while... no reason, just time and inspiration are fleeting sometimes. But I picked it back up recently and got back at it. I am glad I waited as I think it helped me fine tune what I wanted and make dolls that are my style. I love these doll ladies and I hope the people that they have been sent off to love them also.

The Doll ladies all have a bodysuit that is part of their torso, they are dressed in handmade frocks that are all removable if needed. Hand knit, lace, tulle, feather, and sequined accessories and embellishments dress these ladies up for whatever special occasion they are accompanying to. They have vintage lace hair, heart shaped felt mouths made from felt, and their wide eyes are made of felt with hand stitched lashes.

My Norah was quite taken with the doll ladies and probably would have kept them all. She was my perfect little model to help portray scale and I think she deserves a special doll lady under the tree this year.

Feel free to contact me if you would like to order a custom doll lady before Christmas.

There are plenty of other fun items in my etsy shop to for delivery before Christmas.
