Gifting Friends

I had a baby shower awhile back. One of my closest friends planned it all and several more of my friends and my mom helped her get it all ready. Some of the cuteness of the shower!

The eating area was set up with vintage vases full of flowers, machine sewn circle garland, pompoms you can’t really see. :)

Each place setting was topped off with a wool felt owl fan, and a yummy caramel apple.

My friend made the banner and painted the letters to match the color scheme.

Oh and to tempt you, some of the fabulous desserts that followed lunch!

The great thing about this shower is that it is sooooo me and I didn’t know anything that she was doing.

So I made my friend a hostess thank you gift of this apron and some cute pumpkins using Danielle Thompsons pumpkin tutorial.
The apron is a nice soft thick cotton. I finished all the edges with bias tape and hid all the seams on the backside.
I used contrasting fabric for a big pocket on the front, the sash, and the necktie.

The necktie is adjustable if her hubby needs to use it at some point. ;)

The pumpkins I made are of fallish cotton using Danielle Thompsons Tutorial which was super easy.
I added a little different detail by using rolled felt for stems with felt leafs sticking out.

For my other friends who helped get everything set up for the shower and run smoothly I made each a cute Halloween Owl.

This is my own pattern that I came up with a couple years ago, and depending on how long you have been visiting this little blog of mine have more than likely seen before. I picked fun Halloween type fabrics and love the way they turned out. :)

Lastly my thank you notes to all who attended and blessed us with gifts. I felt so overwhelmed by every one’s generosity that I wanted to do a little something extra. So…..

I made little felt owl magnets with hand stitched fabric wings, and button eyes. The thank yous where written on the little tags and both where tucked inside these little brown paper bags I embellished with paper doilies, string, masking tape, and stamps.

They where such fun to make and deliver some in person. :)

They all loved what I made them, which makes me feel so great as I know this is but a drop in the bucket of how thankful I am for everyone who helped and came that day.
(oh and I am not sharing my mom’s gift as she hasn’t gotten it yet)

Thanks for stopping by!
