Pasta Pillow Tutorial

Pasta Pillow Tutorial

Hi Friends! Have you been searching for a Pasta Pillow Tutorial? Well I have just the one for you. ;) A full step by step video tutorial on YouTube sharing how to make a Ravioli Pillow and a Pierogi Pillow. Did I have to learn how to spell Pierogi for this? Yes, yes I did. Is Pierogi technially not Pasta? Sure, but Pasta Pillows just had a ring to it. ;) Let’s chat about how this tutorial came about.

Storytime! My daughter and I have been wanting to make a Ravioli Pillow for some time. Why? No real reason other than food stuff is cute!!!! Well and we like Ravioli. ;) So I have mulled over this for several months and had the exact plan for how to make. The biggest hurdle was finding fleece in the right color. Without a local Joann Fabrics anymore the fleece fabric selection is sad and trying to determine colors online is tough.

Anyway back to the story… Last week my friend Mollie and I were chatting after she sent me pictures of the adorable Poland Pierogi at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Mostly seen at the Ice Skating Competitions. But it’s been getting traction online and in articles and is so cute! We did find out that the one at the Olympics was made by Luft.Katowice and the websites and Instagram are all in Polish. But from what I found out it is a non profit that teaches disabled people. They make these adorable Pierogi Pillows to help support the organization and if your in Poland they often have them for sale. But they as of yet don’t ship outside of Poland. I highly recommend checking them out and helping or donating in anyway.

So Mollie and I decided to make free tutorials to make similar Pierogi Pillows in different sizes and formats to work with out creative busines styles. This gave me the initiative to make the Ravioli Pillow that has been on my mind for months and include it as well.

Pillow Details

The Ravioli Pillow ends up being 20″ square including the flange, the flat curvy part on the edges. And the Pierogi Pillow is 19″ wide x 11″ tall + legs if you choose that option.

They are both made using Polar Fleece. I found mine at Hobby Lobby in the color Winter White. There are lots of online fleece retailers now too if you can’t find at HL.

The Pierogi definitly needs the face if you ask me, but you can opt for an embroidered mouth more like the Pierogi seen at the Olympics. And I added the legs from the Strawberry Friend adaption so you can add legs to your Pierogi! Check out the Strawberry Friend add on below. It’s included in the pattern on Etsy now, but you can messge me on Etsy from your order for the link to the download for the legs and face if you have already purchased.

The Ravioli has an optional face. Which honestly I don’t think is optional cause it’s so cute! Thanks Mollie for inspiring me to start adding faces to some of my creations.

The Video Tutorial is on the long side. But you can speed up as needed and really once you make one they are so quick!
