I originally designed the Hearts All Around Quilt in 2022 for newsletter subscribers to use with a large square center. I revisited it the following year to improve the pattern and add the X Star middle option, and I love how that addition turned out. It adds a super fun detail to the heart blocks. This is one of those patterns that works for everything: Valentine's Day, baby quilts, wedding gifts, or just-because presents. It's lovely to play around with fabric placement, and the scrappy versions are some of my favorites.

About the Pattern
The pattern includes two block sizes: a 12" block that makes a 66" square quilt with 25 blocks, and a 16" block with two middle options (plain center or X Star) that makes a 69" square quilt with 16 blocks. Fabric requirements, cutting instructions for both blocks and quilts, and sewing instructions with diagrams are all included. The pattern is traditionally pieced and very scrappy friendly. A printable coloring sheet for each quilt size is included. Skill level is confident beginner. Easy to customize your own size by adjusting the number of blocks and sashing.
