Some special softies for Christmas!

The Dino.

This was so simple to make, and I love that it is so modern looking. I looked up a bunch of dinosaur silhouettes online but finally decided to just wing it and drew my own. :) I think it’s like a Stegasaurous. :) I cut him out of this boyish cotton herringbone for both sides, although you could very well use two different fabrics.

I then cut a strip of wool felt and cut it into triangles for his spines. Is that what there called? I also appliqued the receiver’s initial in wool felt.

Then I sewed him all up and stuffed him. Easy Peasy! :) I think I may add some of these to my shop next year!

The Owl Pillow.

I have been wanting to make an owl pillow after seeing Rubyellen’s House pillows. :) So I set about making one for a Christmas gift.

I love the eyes I came up with and her lovely eyelet and lace feathered tummy. But I am not sure she is feeling like a pillow. I don’t know why but for some reason while making her I had this insane need to make her stand up. But after I was done realized that isn’t really “pillow like”. All in all I think she is cute and will be loved!
