I picked up some great new fabrics today. Mostly for gift projects, for Christmas and some birthdays. My husband thinks I am a little nuts starting on Christmas gifts now, but I am trying to get a headstart because I know I will lose steam somewhere between now and Christmas.
I opened up the package of buttons I picked up at Goodwill, and swoon. There is some good stuff in this pile. I LOVE buttons and use them all of the time.
A fun birthday gift for a sweet little girl. I whipped this up with no pattern. It was pretty labor intensive so I will have to come up with some time savers next time. But I think she will like it. A notebook holder with some pockets, and a roll of crayons.
Lastly, I found this link for a great advent calender at Sew, Mama, Sew, and as I was attempting some ideas last winter nothing worked. So I love this design, but the friend I am making it for was complaining that hers didn’t have big enough pockets for surprises for all three of her little girls. So I made a prototype of a bigger pocket.
I think it could work. Now I have to find some more Christmas fabrics.
Lovely fabrics – really like the crayon roll and journal cover. I've been meaning to make a crayon roll for awhile now – but something always takes priority first – I really must get on that!
