Whoops!

Whoops!

Well that was a little unplanned blogging break. Not that I’m the most consistent blogger. :)

Anyway, rest assured I have been super busy. Just not a ton that is in a shareable state as nothing is done. Plus I switched over to a new computer because my old one took about 10+ minutes to do anything. But that means so many of my files aren’t transferred yet, and I don’t have photoshop currently to edit pictures. I am currently using picmonkey which is nice but different than what I’m use to so it takes longer.

I do believe I owe you a giveaway winner from the forever ago Dinosaur Tutorial! Jen of PatientnKind.Blogspot.com I drew your name! I will shoot you an email for your address. Congrats!

Okay so here’s something fun! I finally finished Norah’s first dress I made for her. It’s Made By Rae’s awesome Geranium Dress. It was super easy to make and has several different variations that are all adorable. I love it and would have finished it sooner if I enjoyed putting buttons in. Seriously though the buttons took all of 10 minutes. Why do I procrastinate?  I have a stack of fabrics to make Norah a bunch more of these dresses. I need to make some bum covers to go under them too.

I made this dress out of Timeless Treasures House Designer,Crosshatch Sketch in Charcoal from Hawthorne Threads. I sewed the circles on with raw edges in hopes that once laundered they will have a frayed edge that will add some fun texture. The circles are Kona in Coral.

I lined the top of the dress in the Kona Coral for a cute little pop of color and also made a cute little coral bow that I need to find colored elastic to attach it too.

I have also been making burp cloths like crazy.  I have a bunch from Luke but I think Norah would appreciate some that were more girly. :)

I have a couple sets to list in my shop after the weekend too.  They are the simplest thing to make and I love giving them as baby gifts because everybody loves them and they work so well. I back them with terry cloth and I also serge the interior edges and top stitch them once turned for extra durability. We still use them with Luke when he’s snotty, drooly, or sick.

This eyeglass print is one of my new favorites. I have it in yellow and white and I think I need to get the pink too. It is adorable. It’s Amy Adams, Geekly Chic, Geekly Glasses in Yellow and I purchased through Hawthorne Threads.

I typically buy all my fabrics through Fabricworm and Hawthrone Threads since they both have amazing selections.

So that’s a little sample of what I’ve been up to. Other things I want to make before Norah gets here 5 weeks and counting.

– another nursing cover or two

– a light weight blanket for sunshade in the stroller – fabric ordered

– some more hairbows – I need to order some fun elastic

– a couple girly crib sheets from vintage sheets

– and some sort of wrap , mei tei, moby, etc…. I need to try some out so this one may wait till she’s born.

So yeah there’s a list! Along with some of the bigger Home improvement projects including the building of our new deck and patio ( not by us) ;) and switching Luke to a big boy bed….

Oh and if your in Pecatonica, Illinois this weekend come to the Pec Thing Flea Market and say hi. My mom and my booth is in one of the sheep sheds and is Vintage Trunk! It’s all day Saturday and Sunday!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
