It’s Christmas in July! Also known as the Oh Christmas Tree Quilt Pattern Release Day! ;)
The Oh Christmas Tree Quilt has been a long time coming. I started designing it in fall of 2024. So it’s been in the works for about 9 months. Whew! I’m so excited to get this in your hands.

All the Options
The Oh Christmas Tree Quilt is a fully customizable quilt that you can fully Traditional Piece or FPP all of the pieced blocks and then traditionally piece the blocks together.
What I mean by that is that all the rectangle blocks in the quilt for the Tree angle have template to traditionally piece or FPP.
The Star Topper also have Traditional or FPP templates.
There are 5 Traditionally pieced Ornaments block options. AND 6 FPP Ornament block options.
The only things that are exclusively FPP are the Background Stars, and the Light Strings.
The beauty of having both options for so much is you can mix and match both options, exclusively sew only traditionally or FPP. It’s up to you.
Coloring Sheets for both the plain tree and the String Lights version are included. As well as a coloring page or two with all the ornaments enlarged.
Plan out your perfect Oh Christmas Tree Quilt using the coloring sheets.

Origin Story
In my testing phase I made THREE Oh Christmas Tree Quilts. The first version is the cover quilt at the top of this post. At a Quilt’N’Sisters fall 2024 retreat I used my Something Wicked Pattern and adapted it to be a little different with a Star Topper, and some ornaments. I realized that this would make an amazing stand alone pattern and when I came home I got to work altering the tree templates to elongate the tree a little which resulted in less angle templates than the Something Wicked Pattern. Whoohoo! Then I started playing around with all the ornaments options and tested all but one for the quilt below. I didn’t make the traditionally pieced ball ornament for the quilt below.

Lastly I squeaked this one under the wire the week of the release. To be far I started it months ago. But life tends to happen more often than naught. ;) But I tested all the Light strings and made a PINK tree! Who doesn’t love a pink tree????
I just wanted to note here that I am pretty sure I didn’t use the recommended amount of fabric prints for any of these versions. The first I had more, the second one I may have had right about the right amount. The last, Lights, I used slightly less. I pull from my stash so I have plenty of fabric to make that happen. Of course if buying new fabric and using a differnt amount of prints you fabric quantities will change.

Mock Ups!
It wouldn’t be a woollypetals Quilt Pattern Release Day without Mock Ups! Here are a handful of quilts using different fabrics of course but also different ornament layouts.

Tester Parade
My testers for the Oh Christmas Tree Quilt did an amazing job! They signed up for specific types. I.e. FPP, Traditional, or a mix. And then did whatever they wanted within those perimeters and for fabrics.
