Sardine Tin Pattern Release

Sardine Tin Pattern Release

The Sardine Tin Pattern Release is today! Whoa! This pattern release is for the FPP, Foundation Paper Pieced Sardine Tin Block. It includes 4 sizes for the block, 3D Tin Sewing Instructions, and Instructions for a quilt!

FPP Sardine Tin Pattern Available HERE.

Foundation Paper Pieced

The four blocks are all Foundation Paper Pieced. The sizes are as follows:

18″ x 24″ Horizontal

18″ x 24″ Vertical

24″ x 36″ Horizontal

24″ x 36″ Vertical

Each Block is a little bit different. The two Horizontal blocks look identical but the construction changes bit between the two. The Vertical Blocks have a little bit different layout and look too. They are all fun to make and require experience in FPP.

I would recommend an intermediate or advanced FPP sewists to tackle them. They take time and have a few tiny pieces in some sections. But overall are a normal FPP pattern.

The written Pattern Instructions walk you through diagrams for each along with written instructions for what order to sew them in. Plus the standard fabric requirements and coloring sheets are included.

I did change a few things in the block in the 9th hour. Don’t worry I tested them. But from feedback from. my testers and walking through a few things I realized I could simplify a couple sections to make the piecing have less itty bitty pieces. ;) There are still some though.

3D Tin Sewing Instructions

Instructions to sew a 3D Tin in either size comes with the Pattern. There are written instructions along with photograpghs for each step. Plus I have a Companion Video linked within the pattern with step by step instructions for sewing the 3D Tin. This is an invalueble source to use along with the written pattern since sewing a 3D item is much trickier than a flat quilt block. ;)

Make a Quilt

Feeling ambitious? Make 5 Sardine Tin Blocks and throw some borders in the mix to make a 60″ x 72″ Quilt! This is a Fall Project for me! I can’t wait to work on it!

The pattern for this is pretty simple outlining what blocks in which sizes to make as well as giving you a full cut list for all the background borders and written instructions for how to sew it up!
