This super quick project has been on my list for months, since I bought the ottoman for $6.99 at Goodwill. I didn’t buy a new chair for Luke’s nursery, instead I slipcovered a small upholstered chair I had thrifted for around $10 at Goodwill.
Well after having Luke and using that chair almost daily I realized I needed an ottoman, and since I had thrifted and covered the chair instead of buying a new one, I couldn’t just go out and buy the matching ottoman. Bummer. So the search began and ended shortly thereafter with this little bad boy below.
As you can see above it is a simple round ottoman covered in a lime green ultrasuede. Not bad, but I am not partial to ultrasuede/microfiber at all and the color although it doesn’t clash with Luke’s room wasn’t perfect either. So I put it on my ever growing to do list to cover it.
Tonight was the night my friends. I had to do a few adjustments to Luke’s room today so I thought I would knock out this project so his room is complete. It was to simple. Isn’t that always the case with the projects we postpone. It seriously took me 20 minutes.
I just cut a circle 1″ larger than the circumference of the ottoman, added some premade piping leftover from his crib skirt, and attached the side piece. I did serge all the interior seams in the event that I have to wash it. But still less than 20 minutes. Why did I wait so long. Tomorrow I will put it back in his room and enjoy that little check of the list.
Have you done any quick projects that you procrastinated to long on lately? Link up in a comment and I would love to check them out.
Thanks for stopping by!
