So I made a Washi Tunic last week. I have been crushing on the Washi action of Instagram the past month or so, and bought the pattern a couple weeks ago. I finally got around to making it.
Top: Washi Pattern – made by me
Cardigan: Target – embellished by me
Jeans: Gap
Shoes: Crocheted Toms
I also donned a scarf later in the day as it was chilly!
The Washi Details:
This is a lovely pattern, super simple and makes a nice fitting comfy tunic. I went with the tunic length for my Washi as I love longer shirts and this fits the bill perfectly. I watched the tutorial video on how to fully line the top section and went with that method above facings. I also made a muslin twice, the first time was exact pattern measurements, and the second was with the adjustments to make it fit like a glove. I HIGHLY recommend the muslin, it fit from just going with the pattern but I wouldn’t have been as happy with it without the adjustments. I also didn’t have an elastic thread and David was gone while the baby slept so I sewed in thin elastic on the same lines it marks for the elastic thread. I would like to try the thread on my next one, but the elastic works great to. All in all I love it, I used a soft linen material that is a couple shades of gray and the fabric is nice and soft albeit wrinkles a bit. :) Go make yourself one, You won’t regret it.
