A sketch in my idea book has come to life. :) The other day I had some time and my book happened to be open to this sketch so I went for it.

The Tree Foliage is hand cut and machine quilted with warm and natural behind it. I then stitched it to the trunk and hand stitched it to the base fabric.

The trunk is a fun tweedy fabric and is backed with warm and natural to give it a little depth.

I was just going to use lots of white buttons but found these red ones in my stash so I added them on as little apples.

The fabric base is stapled to a canvas board. I buy lots of thrift store frames and some have canvas art in them still. I usually save the ugly pieces and paint over them, or use the canvas frame. It definitely saves money!
