We went to my parents house the day after Christmas to celebrate with my parents, one of my sisters and her three kids, and my brother and his wife. It was such a good time of relaxing, family time, new and old traditions. One of the new ones being Gingerbread house making.
One afternoon we set out lots of candy, graham crackers, frosting, and glue guns. Yes, you read that right, glue guns. :) Everyone came as they pleased and made there own gingerbread house, structure, vehicle, or sculpture. :) To make our village.
I saw Ashley use glue to construct her houses and thought, what a genius idea. We did have a couple balk at the use of glue and go old school just using frosting. It worked for one house, but the others house collapsed. :(
My brother above decided to make a tank that could run over our house. :) Although not literally. He somehow (I was feeding Luke so not present at that time) made a candle for the barrel so it had a real flame coming out.
My hubby wasn’t that interested in making a house, so he made a modern art sculpture for the village. :)
This is my sister’s mid century house.
Our completed village. :) It was sooo much fun to do. A nice time spent with family doing something that pretty much everyone enjoyed. We will definitely be making this a tradition in the years to come.
Thanks for stopping by!
