To keep Luke’s noggin warm!

To keep Luke’s noggin warm!

I have had this pattern from baparsell for several months with the plan to make Luke an elf hat for Christmas Pictures. I even bought the pattern way back when, but with the renovation and trying to get everything else finished for baby I thought I wouldn’t have time.

Well this past week I haven’t been super motivated to do much. I am to excited for Luke to be born to think about much else. So I find myself dallying the days away. Not good.

So I picked up my needles and made this hat in a couple sittings. It was super easy, the pattern is very clear, you actually knit this straight instead of in the round, which is a bit trickier. I am Loving the way it turned out. :) I originally wanted to make this in red and white for our holiday baby announcement. But I used what I had on hand and love the colors. Maybe if I get to the store in the next day I can try and whip up a Christmas one too.

This little hat is something I started before we even new Luke was a boy, and it sat in my knitting project pile half finished for months. I finally finished it! I also lined this with a soft aqua colored jersey as it will be his everyday hat till he grows out of it.

This is made from a pattern that I purchased forever ago at a local knitting shop. The pattern originally is meant for the hat to look like fruit. But it has always been just the perfect hat for many size children, so I finally had to adapt it so it didn’t have a stem on the top and I could use it for regular hats too.

I can’t wait to share pictures of Luke in these hats once he arrives. We are now officially on baby watch 2010 as I am due tomorrow and hope he comes sometime this weekend. :)

Thanks for stopping by!
