Basement Progress

Basement Progress

Hi Guys!
I just wanted to share pictures of my super close to being done basement. We are just working on finishing touches from here and moving in furniture this weekend. YAY! I can’t wait. The next 5 weeks till Luke’s due date will go so fast with everything I want to do in my house now that it will regain it’s normalcy again.

At the bottom of the stairs to the right Before:

After: We expanded the space a couple feet, took out the faux fireplace and moved the door to the laundry room to here (you can see the edge of the door frame on the right of the picture).

The main Area Before:

After: Sorry for the not great picture as the glaring light from the windows makes it difficult to photograph. We removed the awful bar and all the wood paneling. It was waterproof, insulated, and drywalled, along with new windows and recessed lighting. We also installed a vinyl laminate wood floor.
The old entrance to the Laundry room :

The old entrance to the laundry room was relocated near the bottom of the stairs and we had to get creative to build a closet and nooks that will become built in shelves around the sump pump that sat in the middle of the old door.

Looking from the Backdoor to the front family room area: Before

After: It is so much lighter and brighter feeling. To take this picture I am standing in the back half which will be my sewing area.

It is sooo much brighter down there and just feels new and clean. I know we will be spending so much time in our new basement which will increase the size of our house so much as we rarely used it before.

The feel I am going for is beachy meets anthropologie! I will be recovering a couple pieces of furniture and painting some stuff, but I am not sure that will get done before the baby. But The rest of the decor will so I will share more once it’s done.

P.S. look for finished pictures of Luke’s room next week. I have one more project and then I will be sharing some fun peeks.

Thanks for stopping by!
