Something Wicked QAL Week 2 – Fall 2020

Something Wicked QAL Week 2 – Fall 2020

We are coming to a close on Week 2 of the Quilt Along!

I want to give a shout out to our awesome sponsors.

Bernina of Naperville is one of our sponsors. They are a local to me quilt shop a short drive away in Naperville, IL. They have a lovely selection of modern fabrics, notions, threads. They hold classes and can teach you to use their longarm to rent time. You can make an order online and use your coupon from the Quilt Along newsletter. Also check out my Something Wicked Halloween quilts on display in the shop the month of October.

Ruby Star Society is an icon fabric division of Moda. We probably all know the Ruby Star Ladies and love their amazing fabrics and expanding line of fun sewing related gifts and extras. We will be having a giveaway sponsored by Ruby Star in Week 3. One of my all time favorite fabrics from them is the starry print from their re-released darlings prints. Pretty much any color in that print and I hope they keep making it and more. hint hint. Pretty much all of their fabrics are just a dream to add to any project.

Windham fabrics is a company full of amazing designers. I have worked with several of their designers for fabric releases and it is always a pleasure. My direct contact at Windham is just the sweetest and always willing to help out with a giveaway. I really love the designers Annabel Wrigley, Dylan M, Heather Ross, Heather Givans, and Amy Gibson. But they have so many others as well. Windham has sent a handful of bundles so they will be coming up in giveaways soon.

Lol, clearly I am a sponsor since I am hosting this shindig. But I did purchase some of the prizes to share with you all as a thank you for all your support and for following along on my little quilting journey. It is one way I can give back to you and I hope to be doing more giveaways during non quilt along times too.

Okay onto Week 2 of the QAL. This week is all about cutting out your pieces. I shared a private video with some cutting tips in the Newsletter and I will link that here. You can only access it with a link, you won’t be able to find it by searching on Youtube.

I share some tips I use to get the most out of my fabric and cut quickly. By the end of Week 2 you should have your whole quilt cut out and be ready to sew up those angled rectangles and finalize your layout in Week 3.

I also wanted to share the weekly schedule in case you need to jump ahead and get it done but still want to participate. Don’t forget to take pictures so you can share along the way.

Okay I hope you have enjoyed week 2 of the QAL. Don’t forget to comment and like on the hastag to build this little community of ours.
